Description: This is truly a magnificent c.1980 Solid Oak West Germany Emperor “Harrington House” Bracket Mantel Clock with a Hermle #1051-020 movement. It is a traditional bracket style clock in a classic walnut finish. Rich embossed metal dial with gold Arabic numerals and a gold chapter ring. Ornate corner spandrel accents framing the clock face adds the perfect elegant touch of class. Finished in a natural stain on select walnut hardwood. Beautiful beveled glass on three sides.
Harrington House was the top line of the Emperor Clock Company clocks. These clocks did not come in kits but were sold by dealers. The mainsprings are wound in the clockwise direction and usually require 6 to 7 complete turns from a fully wound down condition. When a definite resistance is felt when winding, a mainspring is fully wound. The left mainspring powers the strike, the center is for the time and the right one is for the chime. The chime mainspring will have more resistance as it is larger. As an 8-day clock, it is wound once a week on the day of your choosing.
Triple Chime 8 day Spring Driven Mantle Movement. Plays Westminster, Whittington and St. Michaels’ melodies on the hour (plus the partial melody on the quarter-hours). Hairspring balance. With gong unit, hands and key. Bottom mounted hammers. 1-3/8″ handshaft. Front mounting brackets.
Recommended servicing every 7 to 10 years.
